{"id":55,"date":"2026-06-27T14:33:29","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T14:33:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/granary.food\/?p=55"},"modified":"2026-06-27T14:42:39","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T14:42:39","slug":"smoked-mackerel-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/granary.food\/?p=55","title":{"rendered":"Smoked mackerel salad"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-text-subtitle is-style-text-subtitle--1 wp-block-paragraph\">Ingredients<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 boneless smoked mackerel fillets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 tin of butter beans (round up for an odd number of people)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Large spoon of sauerkraut <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 apple<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 small cucumber <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/3 pack cherry tomatoes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 bag of baby spinach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 walnuts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Curly lettuce or similar traditional variety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tablespoon of mixed seeds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lemon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ryvitas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cottage cheese<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Quantities are per person.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-text-subtitle is-style-text-subtitle--2 wp-block-paragraph\">Method<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preheat oven (on fan setting) to 180.  Prepare a baking tray by lining with greaseproof paper.  Lay the mackerel fillets, skin down, on the greaseproof paper and place the tray in the oven once oven has reached temperature.  Set timer for 12 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wash and drain tomatoes, apple, cucumber.  Finely dice all of them into a large salad bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add baby spinach, walnuts, mixed seeds, sauerkraut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drain and rinse butter beans, then add to salad bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Squeeze a lemon into a bowl.  Mix in a large teaspoon of mustard and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.  Once blended, pour over sald and mix bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Place ryvitas and cottage cheese on table for people to help themselves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients Quantities are per person.
